Surprise!!

The ultrasound went fairly well yesterday. We did manage to find out that we are expecting a little girl. She was balled up in a corner and the tech had an interesting time trying to get all the pictures she needed.

There were a couple of things that showed up on the ultrasound that were of some concern. The baby looked plenty healthy enough, but the umbilical cord showed only one artery where there should be two. Also, the membranes of the placenta have flowed down the uterine wall and over my cervix. My doc is hoping that as the uterus stretches and grows the membranes will move from on top of the cervix and that problem will be solved. As for the umbilical cord. They are setting up an appointment for me with a 'high-risk' doctor for a 2nd opinion ultrasound, then we'll be going back to Dr. Lindsey to see what's up.

I know God is in control, and He has a plan. Just praying that I will be patient and trust Him to carry us through. All prayers for a healthy, happy baby and mom are appreciated, however. :) Btw - her name . . . Isabella.

Bye for now.
